Our father who hath in heaven, hallowed be your name

For my daddy who is on earth, keeps giving you blame
I am between crossroads of two fathers that I do not know
Whether going to the right or the left will grant me my desire show
He was born in a time of famine, war, and pestilence and has seen things
Things that has plunged his mind into a dimension a fault finding and giving
Led to believe he could one day become someone of repute
With the much and little effort he put, blanks did he still shoot
When less becomes nothing when more vanishes into thin air
Why was life so unfair? What fault of my dadā€™s was it in all of these?

Thy kingdom come; Your will be done on earth

I want to believe you’re still coming
I hope these battle and storm are your wills
Cos am getting really ill, that I seek answers but find none
I seek remedies but they don’t work
Rather from within comes the stench of my rot
Is this what goes on in your kingdom?

Give us this day our daily bread

Oh you don’t want to know how I have stayed on the mountain of hunger
Disguised as fasting and weeping for the strength to pray would drain the little nutrients left in me
I just might have compromised the stone for bread or my birthright for that bowl of stew
Such was my lifeā€™s thread to always pick pebbles from grains
And waiting for the crumbs to be blown down
In as much as it kept me down, I took it all in with no frown
My utmost concern was just for me to eat

Forgive our debts as we forgive as we have forgiven our debtors

The bank foreclosed the piece of land and the rush work of a thing called house that was on it
My most trusted friend sold me out for some pieces of silver
I took it all in not because obeying your command was prime to me
But I had not the strength nor the resources to wage war
So while licking my wounds in total defeat I limped away

Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil

I think I will thank you more for the ending phrase
You did so well keeping me through lifeā€™s tsunami
The accidents, robberies, stray bullets that aimed towards me
But as for the temptations, you seem to have had popcorn and soda
Watching the blockbuster of the disaster that I had become
I wasn’t just lead into temptation it was more like my dwelling place
I swam in it to the point of drowning that even a lifejacket felt like an anchor
Drawing me deeper into the blue, for I had no Jobā€™s skills to endure this long that I was sure of
The coast guards had to set sail to pull me out for in some seconds I would have been due
Due to greet the world hello from the other side for I was ready to curse and die

Yours is the kingdom, your power, and glory forever and ever

My dear child, why do you lose sight of who you are?
Is it not I that formed and knew you before you got into your mother’s womb?
I who is faithful and ever true to my word that you won’t be tempted beyond what you can bear
And even when you’re tempted, will also provide a way out so that you can testify and even fly high
I didn’t eat the popcorn as you thought I did I was anticipating your praise and worship
Which is my preferred daily meal from you but you fed me not
How then were my glory to be activated when your lamp was dimming out and the oil drying?
Rather than put your praise on it you put your whining on it

Oh it would have been a lot better if it was your crying instead, that you were so weak to give me praise
For I’m your rock, your fortress, your deliverer, your stronghold and salvation worthy of all praise
Even when the cords of death tangled you and the torrents of destruction overwhelmed you
All you needed was cry out for help. I surely know your voice
My outstretched arms was on standby to pull you out of the deep waters
I gave you my word to never leave nor forsake you even when you’re entangled in thorns
How you respond will determine how quickly the provision of deliverance comes
For I am your father who hath in Heaven
